About

Working for mHelpDesk was honestly the most fun, energetic, and educational experience I’ve had. The company was founded by two people, and by the time I left, there were 80. When I arrived I was employee number 30 (give or take a few). It was such a rush and unique experience to be part of a growing and thriving tech startup.

When you’re in that atmosphere, you learn a lot about what you’re truly capable of. That’s when you learn the most - when you have to learn. What I believe was truly incredible, was the culture. The company felt like a group of friends working their butt off to build a company. An experience I’m truly greatful for.

The product itself was is a business software for the field service companies. HVAC, Plumbers, Lawn care, you name it. The clients are really hard-working men and women that bust their butts every day. They don't really use software, but they know that they need it to get their business in order. Given the fact my dad has ran his own field service business, I thought it was awesome seeing small companies save time and growing their business using software.

Role

My role was very diverse here, but my title was the Content Marketing Manager. However, I ended up handling all things that related to design. From the mural in the front office, to the re-design of our marketing website. Quite literally, everything that was front facing, I had my hands on.

The marketing site was one of the larger projects, which drastically increased lead conversion. I worked directly with a PHP developer to build the custom wordpress site that I designed. In the end, the website tripped lead conversion. In addition, the mobile app design was of the most successful things I designed. The app has won several awards since it launched. I also began to design the web application, but left before the project could be completed.

This was also place where I began my education for front-end development. All of the projects here were super small, on only involved HTML and CSS.
